Neighborhood Association Organizational Meeting

Area residents turned out in large numbers for our first meeting of the Gandy-Westshore Neighborhood Association held January, 17 at 6:00pm at the Jan Kaminis Platt Library with an opening message given by Jerry Frankhouser. Participants at the meeting were asked to suggest names for the association. The following suggestions were given: Bayside, New Bay, Mandy Bay (Manhattan Gandy), Guernsey Cove, GEM (Bay-Gandy-Euclid-Manhattan), Guernsey-Bayside, Gandy East Shore, Sunshine, New Horizons and North Gandy-Westshore. Several guest speakers in attendance provided residents with information on social services, transportation and crime watch activities.

Neighborhood Association Dues
In order to maintain the Bayside West Area as the wonderful community it is, please consider your role in making that happen. Dues of $5.00 per member a year have been approved to aid in the successful efforts of our association. Dues may be mailed to Dan Dillon at 4851 W. Gandy Blvd. B8L4 Tampa, Fl. 33611. A bank account will be opened at the First Community Bank. Please complete the attached enrollment form and mail it back with your membership dues.
Board of Directors Meeting:
In an effort to identify the area that our neighborhood association represents and using names recommended at our organization meeting, a majority of board members voted to change the neighborhood association name from Gandy-Westshore to Bayside West. Association by-laws were reviewed and it was determined that additional information was needed. Members paying $5.00 will be eligible for 1 (one) vote. If there are multiple persons in a household desiring eligible voting privileges they must also pay the $5.00 dues.
